Sosua is a small beach town in the Dominican Republic that is largely popular amongst the tourists for its lovely beach. The streets of the city are calm and joy to walk around with friends or family.
Let’s just delve briefly about things to do in Sousa and make holidays entertaining.
The Sosua Beach is remarkably known amongst the tourists for its crystal clear waters and sparkling sand. Families can indulge their kids in creating sand castles or simply relax under the shade of the trees. Of course, you can have your beach breakfasts in the nearby restaurants or bars after a session of snorkeling. Photographers will have a great time to click the silhouettes at the sunset time.
Have the local rum i.e. Coco Loco and the Presidente Beer for sure at the beach. In the late evenings, you might see a beach party start by with salsa music in the background.
If you would like to mingle with the locals and learn about their customs and traditions, head down the west of the Sousa beach to find the Los Charamicos village group, some from Germany who settled down here in the 1940’s. They are friendly people willing to share their stories with the visitors. Also pay a brief visit to a small museum if you are interested to learn about the Jewish Community history in the city.
Youngsters who are looking to have some fun in Sousa at night can jaunt the local bars and party spots to have a drink and mingle with the crowd. The Britannia Pub and the Jolly Roger Bar & Grill, the ‘Checkpoint Bar & Snack shop’ offers a lively ambience and music like Karaoke and darts to anyone who wants to get high in Sousa.
One can shop at the street-side shops for clothing, jewelry or a local or Haiti painting. However, it is advised to bargain strongly about the price quoted.
The North Coast in Sousa has some interesting expeditions for the tourists. Check with the local tour operators and book a day for exploring the Sousa forests and the waterfalls, indulging in whale watching and fishing, horse riding and rafting. Ask the guide for a trip to the Monkey Jungle where you can try your hand at zip lining while watching the birds and the monkeys.
Sousa has every type of restaurant for food lovers. From Italian to German or from Roman to street food, there is a dish to satisfy your food temptations. Just plain good! Consider the ‘Baileys’ for all cuisines, ‘Casanova’ for every food wish, ‘El Toro’ for the German food and ‘Morua Mai’ for lobsters, pizza and street food. Couples can consider the ‘On the Watefront’ restaurant if they want to see a sunset while having their food.
Sousa is perfect for a vacation with family and chill out for a couple of days at the beach or simply party along. Pack your bags and book your tickets to Sousa.
